The 20th Biennial Convention in Billings, Montana is now in the history books. I hope everyone who attended enjoyed Stepping out of Bounds. We had great walks in Buffalo, Wyoming, at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, on the Yellowstone River, downtown Billings to the breweries, up on the Rims, beautiful Red Lodge, and our last walk in Cody. We had great food, good music, informative workshops, noncontroversial meetings with great keynote speakers, and an interesting presentation for our next convention in Albany in 2019, as well as fantastic weather. What more could you ask for?
I would like to thank each and every one of you who attended, as well as all of our hard-working volunteers who stepped up to work and made this convention such a great one. As you discovered at the convention, we had a very small cadre of pre-planning committee members (Lynette, Lois and Frank, Kevin, and Frank and Sherry were it), so I'm still pretty amazed that we pulled this off! We could never have done it without the fantastic volunteers who stepped up, and yes, those volunteers came from all over the country. We had no walking clubs in Billings, no year-rounds or seasonals for you to do on your free time, yet everyone seemed to have a good time. I sincerely hope that each of you carried home with you some special memories of walking and spending time with friends in a different part of the country you might never had discovered otherwise.
Lastly, I would like for you to send us your photos and we will put them up here on the website. Send them to info@2017AVAConvention.org, and feel free to send us any comments (good or bad) to the same address.
During the convention I hosted a workshop called 'Volksmarching in Self Defense'. I sent the presentation to a bunch of folks, but forgot about the video that was in it. To see/download the presentation and the video, and to find out how to receive the Door Prize I offered, click here to get to my Volksmarching in Self Defense page.
And a BIG Thank You for a great convention. It was my first AVA Convention and I really enjoyed myself. Can't wait for Albany.
Thank you for all of your hard work putting this convention together.
Hi Frank & Sherry--
Great convention!! Thanks so much--great time, great memories!!
Thank you for all the hard work you did to make the convention such a huge success!!!
Let me start off by saying how much I enjoyed my convention trip. Not only did I get Montana and Wyoming, I also claimed 8 more states on my 4400 mile journey.
Thank you also for a great convention.

A big "thank you" to Sherry and you for putting on a wonderful Convention, events, dinners, and social gatherings. Everyone had a wonderful time thanks to your hard work and meticulous planning.
You folks did a most outstanding convention job. There are always issues, but as long as no one died there shouldn't be any real complaints. All in all, super job!!!
Thank you for all your work with the AVA convention! Planning from afar takes an extra bit of energy and you pulled it off.
Thanks for a wonderful convention! My friend Shirley and I enjoyed it all. We included the Tetons and Yellowstone on the trip! A great time!!
